Richie grew up in the quiet suburb of Grayslake, IL where he first became interested in storytelling after being cast in the role of Gollum in a local community theatre production of The Hobbit. He spent the next decade acting in a variety of productions across the greater Chicagoland area.
Later attending Wesleyan University, he spent most of his time in college jumping between both theatre and film. It was during a 16mm directing class when he was cutting and taping together pieces of film in the editing lab that he realized his true calling was behind the camera.
After moving to LA, Richie worked at Marc Platt Productions and Annapurna Pictures before eventually becoming Edgar Wright’s assistant and protégé on films such as Baby Driver, The Sparks Brothers, and Last Night in Soho.
Richie’s latest film, One Last Thing, was selected for the 2021 LA Shorts and Burbank Film Festivals and was a finalist for the Wes Craven Horror/Thriller Award at the Catalina Film Festival.
In 2023, Richie was commissioned to write a feature-length screenplay for Star Thrower Entertainment. He also directed the music video for the Sparks single 'The Girl is Crying in Her Latte,' starring Cate Blanchett.
